George is buried near Itasca State Park in
Minnesota.
A flag flies over his gravesite, as he served as a volunteer in the Civil
War.
He was in the Wisconsin Infantry, and was discharged in 1865 at Nashville,
Wisconsin.

He was ordered to Louisville, KY then to Nashville, TN and Tullahoma, TN -

Department of the Cumberland, to April 1865.
Second Brigade, 1st Sub-District, District Middle Tennessee,
Department of Cumberland to Sep 1865.
Railroad guard duty at Tullahoma and in District of Middle until
September.
Mustered out 04 Sep 1865.
