Merlin Dale Samuelson

Feb. 4, 1953 — Feb. 22, 2009

Merlin Dale Samuelson, 56, of Albany died Feb. 22 in Portland due to cardiac arrest following hospitalization with pneumonia and massive system infection.

A graduate of Albany Union High School in 1971, he moved to California and Nevada, but finally returned to Albany for the majority of his adult life. He worked in quality control for the metal casting industry at various companies and saved his true passion for the artistry found in his design, construction and painting of model aircraft and other period pieces.

Merlin is survived by his wife, Judy Knight Samuelson; sisters Suzy Samuelson of Milwaukie and Gayle Samuelson Carpentier of San Francisco; and aunts Jan Wilson of Albany and Jean Risseeuw of Willamina.

There were no public services per his wishes.
